Marriyum says govt possesses video evidence

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal minister for information and broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Wednesday those involved in attacks on military installations would be trialed under the military law.

Addressing a presser, she said martyrs’ graveyards were burned adding that it was akin to animosity against the country. “Only a handful of people did this on PTI chief Imran Khan’s direction,” she claimed.

“We have the video evidence and we will not spare anyone who did this,” she added.

She went on to say that they burned Pakistan’s flag adding that it was not politics. “NSC meeting categorically vowed to take strict action against them,” she added.

The minister said it was state’s responsibility to give relief to people who suffered damages, adding that it affected daily wagers. “Attackers will be trailed under relevant civil and military laws,” she added. No country, she said, allowed this.

Ms Aurangzeb continued by saying that it was not only government’s responsibility to establish the writ of state adding that court had to play its part. “Today armed arsonists are residing inside Mr Khan's residence in Zaman Park,” she added. Punjab interim government, she said, gave Mr Khan 24hours to court voluntary arrest.

She said alleged audio leaks preceding attacks on security installations cleared any doubt [about PTI's involvement in attacks on security installations]. “PM Shehbaz has made a committee to monitor fair dispensation of justice," she added.

Showing videos and audios, she asked if they were agencies’ people. "It is beyond politics and everyone needs to differentiate between politics and [vandalism],” she added.

Upon being asked if Mr Khan would be trialed under the army law, she said Mr Khan would be trialed by the relevant court.
